Global Field Dynamics and Cosmological Structure Formation

چکیده
In this contribution we discuss gravitational effects of global scalar fields and, especially, of global topological defects. We first give an introduction to the dynamics of global fields and the formation of defects. Next we investigate the induced gravitational fields, first in a flat background and then in the expanding universe. In flat space, we explicitly calculate the gravitational fields of exact global monopole and global texture solutions and discuss the motion of photons and massive particles in these geometries. We also show that slowly moving particles and the energy of photons are not affected in static scalar field configurations with vanishing potential energy. In expanding space, we explore the possibility that global topological defects from a phase transition in the very early universe may have seeded inhomogeneities in the energy distribution which yielded the observed large scale structure in the Universe, the sheets of galaxies, clusters, voids ... . We outline numerical simulations which have been performed to tackle this problem and briefly discuss their results. e-mail: [email protected]

Cosmic Walls and Filaments Formation in Modied Chaplygin Gas Cosmology
We want to study the perturbation growth of an initial seed of an ellipsoidal shape in Top-Hat collapse model of the structure formation in the Modied Chaplygin gas cosmology. Considering reasonable values of the constants and the parameters of the model under study, we can show that a very small deviation from spherical symmetry (ellipsoidal geometry) in the initial seed leads to a nal highly ...
متن کاملLemaître Class Dark Energy Model for Relaxing Cosmological Constant
Cosmological constant corresponds to the maximally symmetric cosmological term with the equation of state p = −ρ. Introducing a cosmological term with the reduced symmetry, pr = −ρ in the spherically symmetric case, makes cosmological constant intrinsically variable component of a variable cosmological term which describes time-dependent and spatially inhomogeneous vacuum dark energy. Relaxatio...
متن کاملCosmological constraints on quintessential halos
A complex scalar field has recently been suggested to bind galaxies and flatten the rotation curves of spirals. Its cosmological behavior is thoroughly investigated here. Such a field is shown to be a potential candidate for the cosmological dark matter that fills up a fraction VCDM;0.3 of the Universe ~where CDM denotes cold dark matter!. However, problems arise when the limits from galactic d...

متن کاملCosmological Constant - the Weight of the Vacuum
Recent cosmological observations suggest the existence of a positive cosmological constant Λ with the magnitude Λ(G~/c3) ≈ 10−123. This review discusses several aspects of the cosmological constant both from the cosmological (sections 1–6) and field theoretical (sections 7–11) perspectives. The first section introduces the key issues related to cosmological constant and provides a brief histori...
